ZSIC COVERS SHEPOLOPOLO

By Wilson Mulinda- ZISC General Insurance Limited has provided free travel medical insurance for the Shepolopolo and the rest of the Zambian delegation travelling for the Tokyo Olympics, totaling 53 athletes and officials.

The travel medical insurance covers the players and officials for the cost of lost luggage, emergency medical evacuation, hospitalisation and medication while in transit and during their stay in Tokyo.

ZSIC General Insurance Assistant Director Marketing KUDA NGOMA says this will cover the cost or provide compensation up to a limit of 40 thousand dollars per player or official.

Speaking during the handover, NGOMA said the Tokyo Olympic games offer a great opportunity for Zambia to showcase its ability to compete on the global stage.

He said ZSIC General will continue to play its part in contributing to the development of sports in the country.

Meanwhile, Local Organising Committee Chairperson CHARITY LUMPA thanked ZSIC for coming on board with the insurance cover.

LUMPA said the team has been preparing well and the first group will travel tomorrow.

She has also thanked other stakeholders that have made donations as the committee tries to reach the set budget for the Olympics.
