Zesco United sets up base in Durban ahead of Confederations Cup clash

Zesco United arrived in South Africa on Wednesday ahead of this Sunday’s CAF Confederations Cup first leg against Royal AM.

The 9 times Zambian Champions have set base at Durban’s Garden Court Hotel.

Sunday’s clash at Moses Mabhida Stadium will be Zesco’s first match this season in the Confederations Cup.

It is the opposite for the little known South African side.

Royal AM beat Mbabane Highlanders of Swaziland 2-0 on aggregate to book a date against the Ndola side.

Zesco are expected to have a loosening training session tomorrow before a tactical session on Friday.

On the eve of the match, Numba Mumamba’s side will have a feel of the Moses Mabhida for close to an hour.

Zesco’s best finish in Africa was in 2016 when they reached the semi finals of the Champions League under George Lwandamina.

The two teams will clash a week later at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in the return leg.
