ZESCO RESTORES POWER

ZESCO Limited has restored electricity supply to all parts of the country following last night’s nationwide power outage.

Zesco senior corporate affairs manager John Kunda has confirmed the restoration to ZNBC news in an interview today.

Dr. Kunda says the power utility company’s National Control Center-NCC- restored supply to all Bulk Supply Points -BSPs-at around 00.01 hours today.

He states that the restoration was done in stages and some areas in the country may have had power earlier than others.

Dr. Kunda further said an investigation is underway on the fuse that malfunctioned at Kariba North Bank Power station which prompted a Blackout countrywide at around 18:07 last night.

He has assured the nation that the power outage had nothing to do with power generation at Kariba as the power plant still has enough water in the reserve for electricity generation.
