By Wilson Mulinda

ZESCO Limited has launched the Youth Action against Vandalism campaign which aims to sensitise the public on the dangers and effects of vandalism.

The power utility has injected five million Kwacha into the campaign which puts youths and communities as ambassadors in the fight against vandalism.

The campaign will be done in partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts and the National Arts Council.

Speaking during the launch, Youth, Sport and Arts Minister ELVIS NKANDU said the partnership will foster community awareness and protect installations from different forms of vandalism.

Meanwhile, ZESCO Board Chairperson VICKSON NC’UBE said it is disheartening to note that children as young as 12 years are getting involved in vandalism.

And Lusaka Province Police Commissioner CRETO KAANZA has advised the public to report any suspicious individuals loitering around ZESCO installations as they could be criminals.
