ZDA,United Capital Fertiliser ink investment deal

Wilson Mulinda-The Zambia Development Agency -ZDA- and United Capital Fertilizer have signed a $308,000 investment Promotion and Protection Agreement aimed at enhancing the manufacture of fertilizer.

United Capital Fertilizer Board Chairperson CHANCE KABAGHE says the company is aiming at expanding its fertilizer production to meet increasing demand.

Mr. KABAGHE says once the production plant is completed, the company will produce over 900,000 tonnes of compound D fertilizer annually.

Speaking during the signing ceremony, Mr. KABAGHE said no company will produce fertilizer at a lower cost, while guaranteeing farmers of timely delivery of fertilizer.

And ZDA Acting Director General ALBERT HALWAMPA said the agency supports investors that honour their pledges.

Mr. HALWAMPA said the project being undertaken by United Capital Fertilizer is a huge milestone and is in line with Government’s call for investment.
