ZANIS AND REDCROSS SOCIETY SIGN MoU

The Zambia News and Information Services -ZANIS- and the Zambia Red Cross Society have signed a Memorandum of Understanding -MoU- for a partnership in public awareness and sensitisation campaigns in disasters and other public health emergencies.

And Information and Media Permanent Secretary KENNEDY KALUNGA has extolled, as timely, the signing of the MoU between the two organisations.

Mr KALUNGA says the MoU will enhance information dissemination on disasters and other public health emergencies, especially now when the country is experiencing a number of disasters arising from flash floods.

The Permanent Secretary praised Zambia Red Cross Society for its humanitarian services in the country and pledged Government’s cooperation with the organisation in this noble cause.

At the same function, Zambia Red Cross Society Secretary General KAITANO CHUNGU said the MoU solidifies the partnership between the two institutions in information dissemination.

The MoU, among other things, will promote joint operations and cooperation in news and information dissemination between ZANIS and Zambia Red Cross Society.

The MoU will facilitate mutual supply of news articles, photographs, video clips and other news-worthy materials for dissemination to the public.

The MoU further commits the two institutions to collaboration in logistical and technical support in information and public sensitisation campaigns.

This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News by Ministry of Information and Media Public and Media Relations Unit.
