Zanaco’s Nigerian ‘consultant’ Amunike to be officially unveiled today

Zambia Super League side, Sensational Zanaco is set to officially unveil Nigeria Super Eagles Legend Emmanuel Amunike this morning. 

The Bankers confirmed Amunike’s appointment as a consultant last week. 

Amunike, 51, will be unveiled and at a press conference at the Zambia national Commercial Bank (Bank) head office along Cairo road this morning, the ZamFoot Crew understands. 

Amunike and his assistant Emeka Amandi have been engaged as consultants to the Kelvin Kaindu led technical bench. 

During his playing days the Nigerian ex-international footballer and UEFA licensed Coach played international football in Europe where he featured for the likes of Sporting Lisbon in Portugal and Barcelona in Spain.

With a coaching career spanning eighteen years, Mr. Amuneke was Head coach of the Nigeria U-17 National Team which won the FIFA U-17 Male World Cup in 2013 in the United Arab Emirate and in 2015 in Chile. He coached various National Clubs in Spain, Nigeria, Sudan, and Egypt. 

Amunike was Head Coach of Tanzania Senior National Team that qualified to the Africa Nations Cup in 2019 after 39 years and Assistant Coach of the Super Eagles – Nigeria National Football Team in 2016.

He was nominated as African Coach of the Year by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 2015.

The ZamFoot Crew understands that Amunike is being prepared to take over from Kelvin Kaindu when his contract comes to an end in December.
