Zanaco win away but Numba is not too impressed

Tafadzwa Rusike and Rodger Kola were on target this afternoon with a goal each as Zanaco edged Mauritius outfit Bolton City 2-1 at the Anjalay stadium.

Despite the win, Zanaco head coach Numba Mumamba believes his team would have won the game by a bigger margin.

“A good result especially that we were playing away and we got a win but I think this is a game we would have scored a lot of goals but our finishing was not good enough, but the teamwork and Fighting Spirit was excellent we just have to build on that and start preparing for the return leg in two weeks time,”he said.

Numba felt the changes that were made involving Rusike and kola might have destabilized the Style of play for Zanaco.

“Yes the Substitution affected the game plan especially that we did not plan for that but it happens in football all we needed is to adjust and the two people that went in did well but their finishing was not good enough,” he Explained.

He further added that despite them conceding a goal Zanaco has what it takes to win the second leg at home.

” I don’t think that will ‘haunt’ us because we have scored two goals away from home and that puts us in a better position than them all we need is just to get down to work, plan and prepare the team so that we get a victory at home,”

This was Zanaco’s First CAF game after the team was on BYE in the preliminary round, National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka will host the second leg on the weekend of the 27/28 of September 2019.
