Sensational Zanaco has set up camp in Cotonou, Benin ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup Group B match against ESAE this Sunday.

The Bankers arrived in Benin on Wednesday and set up camp in Cotonou. Zanaco had a regeneration workout session conducted by Fitness Coach Thomson Matenda at the Rene Pleven Stadium.

It has not all been smooth as the bankers were handed bad reception by ESAE.

Delegation leader, Rix Mweemba who is also the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Vice President was left disappointed by the behavior.

“The behavior was very uncalled for, Football has evolved people should stop these kinds of mind games because in football is won on the pitch,” Mweemba said.

“Such kind of behavior should not be tolerated in football, because the game is supposed to unite people and not divide them,” he added.

The bankers were only given a minibus by the local club which the 18 players couldn’t even fit, and that caused Zanaco to organize their own transport from the Airport to the hotel.

“We are in a congested city and we had to risk our players by moving in Taxi’s and without any Police Escort,” Mweemba said.

“We should not be intimated by these mind games, We just need to remain focused, look forward to the game and beat them (ESAE) on the pitch,” he added.

Defender Kelvin Owusu says the team is targeting maximum points.

“It’s hot here in Benin but we are adjusting. We not going underrate them because we just here to collect maximum points. Everyone in camp is looking for a victory, Yeah we are ready,” he said.

Zanaco and ESAE will square off on Sunday as the Bankers target their first win of the campaign.
