Zambians Hailed Over AU Hosting

Brian Mwale – Government has praised citizens for uniting in the successful hosting of the African Union 4th Mid- Year Coordination Meeting.

Chief Government Spokesperson CHUSHI KASANDA says the unity shown among all sectors symbolises the peace and love that Zambia is known for.

Ms. KASANDA has also commended the private sector for their material and financial support towards the hosting of the meeting and paid tribute to the technocrats for their technical input.

She says the recent mid-year coordination meeting was one of the most highly subscribed in terms of attendance with five Heads of State, over forty Foreign Affairs Ministers and representatives and other dignitaries from Africa and beyond.

In a statement to ZNBC News, Ms. KASANDA who is also Information and Media Minister said the attendance demonstrated the seriousness that African leaders attach to making the continent a better place to live in.

She said President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA used the occasion to share with his counterparts the vision for Africa: a continent whose people have enough food, shelter and clothing.

The Minister added that President HICHILEMA was also emphatic on the need for a strong and stable Africa that concentrates on the delivery of services to its people.

She reiterated Government’s resolve to remain a committed player on the continent for continued peace and stability.
