Zambian airports due for International Audit

Transport and Logistics Minister FRANK TAYALI has tasked the Zambia Airport Corporation Limited to improve the standards of aviation facilities across the country ahead of the International Civil Aviation Organisation Audit.

Mr TAYALI says the country is in the 3rd quarter of this year expected to undergo a stringent audit from the international civil aviation organisation .

He says among the works that should be undertaken is the rehabilitation of the runway, installation of air field in various areas among them Mfuwe airport.

Mr TAYALI said this during the Introductory meeting for the Zambia Airport Corporation Limited Managing Director NGOZA MATAKALA at his office today.

He has urged the Corporation to be innovative in expanding its revenue base through commercializing it’s aviation facilities.

And ZACL Board Chairperson ZEVYANJI SINKALA said the appointment Ms MATAKALA will enable the corporation to navigate the complexities of the aviation industry .

Mr SINKALA said the board is confident that corporation will maintain its status as a leading aviation authority and also elevate Zambia as a hub of aviation .

Meanwhile Ms MATAKALA had pledged to develop, upgrade and rehabilitate provincial aerodromes.
