Mr. LUFUMA says Zambia and Malawi continue to face a challenge to security due to transnational crimes which include illegal migration, smuggling, poaching, human and drug trafficking.

He is however confident that the officials meeting prior to the ministerial session developed effective strategies aimed at curbing potential threats faced by the two countries.

Mr. LUFUMA who is the Co-Chairperson of the commission said this during the 16th session of the Malawi – Zambia Joint Permanent Commission on defense and security in Salima, Malawi.

He further implored the two delegations to ensure the resolutions are implemented before the next session of the commission.

Mr. LUFUMA is accompanied by his Home Affairs counterpart JACK MWIIMBU.

And Malawi’s Homeland Security Minister RICHARD BANDA said the commission is testimony to the cordial relations shared between Zambia and Malawi.
