Zambia U17 Coach re-ignite age cheating talk

Zambia Under-17 coach George Chilufya has re-ignited the talk around the controversy of age cheating.

A vividly annoyed Chilufya showed his emotions following Zambia’s 2-1 defeat against Angola in the Cosafa Under-17 finals on Wednesday.

“I don’t know if MRI just works for Lesotho, for Namibia, for Zambia and some other countries and not the other team,” said Chilufya in a post match interview following Zambia’s defeat to Angola.

“But credit again goes to my boys. They really played against a very organised side but again am not sure because I believe in what my eyes tell me,” the Nkana assistant didn’t hold back.

While the likes of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique withdrew pending to the Covid 19 fourth wave, the regional 5 games were hosted in Maseru, Lesotho.

“It’s been a very nice journey for the sake of development for our boys.

“I don’t know. I maybe wrong or right. The boys fought and the boys gave everything. And I think credit goes to them.
