Zambia U-20 midfielder India bound for medical treatment

Nchanga Rangers and Zambia Under-20 national team enterprising midfielder Eliot Kampukesa suffered an injury during his club’s 3-1 over Livingstone Pirates in week one of the Eden University/FAZ National Division One.

Kampukesa who watched his teams week two fixture from the terraces was however consoled by his team unwavering support as all the players and executive committee members came out wearing shirts written ‘Kampukesa we are with you’

Meanwhile, Nchanga Rangers Club President Patson Nyirenda reiterated the clubs’ commitment to taking care of its young talents

“Elliot will travel abroad for specialist treatment to underline the care we have for these boys. We are optimistic Elliot will bounce back strong and all we can do now is to keep him in our prayers,” Nyirenda told the ZamFoot Crew.

The President also expressed his excitement at the tone that the club has started its campaign with by declaring that; we must bounce back home (the Super Division) after two years of shedding tears. It is too early in the season, but our strong start is what we have been.

The 2019 U-20 COSAFA winner sustained an injury both on his knee and ankle last weekend and is expected to fly to India later this week.

Nchanga Rangers on Saturday went top of the National Division One with a 2-1 win over North Western-based outfit, Trident. It’s their second win of the season after becoming the first team to beat Livingstone Pirates at Maramba Stadium in Eden University/ FAZ National Division One League last weekend.

Nchanga Rangers’ next assignment is a home match against City of Lusaka in week three.
