Zambia To Make Mark as Reliable Food Supplier-HH

President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA says Zambia is poised to make a mark on the international and regional stage as a reliable food supplier and manufacturer of various agricultural products.

President HICHILEMA says many investors who have expressed interest in investing in agriculture are assisting local farmers boost production and improve value addition.

Speaking at State House when he received a delegation from the United Green group, led by British High Commissioner NICHOLAS WOOLLEY, the President said Africa needs to move from a point of being only a supplier of raw products but play an active role in su
plying  finished products.

President HICHILEMA said those investing in the agricultural sector should bear in mind that Zambia has different kinds of farmers who can be assisted differently.

Earlier, United Green Group Chief Executive Officer ASHEN ASHA said Zambia has the greatest potential to become the region’s food basket.

Mr. ASHA said the company is focused on developing Agro food processing systems and boosting agricultural production in Africa.

And Mr WOOLLEY said Zambia is an attractive destination for investors because of the vision the president has in developing the country and building its economy.
