ZAMBIA IN NEED OF IMF BAILOUT INSTALMENT FOR HEALTH,EDUCATION

Finance and National Planning Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE says government needs the next installment of the International Monetary Fund -IMF financial bailout in order to finance the health and education sectors.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says the 188 million dollars installment which is now due, will help realize the free education policy which government is implementing.

Speaking when he appeared on Sunday Interview program on ZNBC TV1, Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said free education has helped many children prepare for the future.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE has also disclosed that the government and official creditors are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding after reaching an agreement in France over a week ago.

He said once the MoU is signed, government will focus on private creditors who it will negotiate with to also sign another agreement.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said private creditors are not part of the deal which was struck in France.
