The Zambia Women’s national team this morning had their first training session in Port Elizabeth, South Africa ahead of the 2020 COSAFA Women’s Championship.

Coach Bruce Mwape says the session was about recovery after a long flight from Lusaka to Port Elizabeth.

“Our first session this morning is about recovery and we also wanted to do some physical conditioning. The bottom line is that we just wanted to do some recovery training this morning,” he said.

Zambia is aiming for gold medals this time around after getting silver medals in last year’s tournament following a 1-0 loss to Banyana Banyana.

The ladies will start their campaign on November, 4 against Lesotho before winding up the group stages with old foes Malawi at the Isaac Wolfson Stadium with Kick-off time being 12:30hrs in both matches.

The Senior Championship will run concurrently with the Under-17 with all matches being played in Port Elizabeth and will run from 3-14 November 2020
