Zambia gets Malaria top prize

ZAMBIA has been awarded the 2022 best malaria scorecard tool award’ at the ALMA 2023 Awards of Excellence on the sidelines of the AU Summit today.
 
President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA has received the award in ADDIS ABABA,ETHIOPIA.
 
According to his Facebook post, President HICHILEMA said the prize is in recognition of the efforts the country has made in fighting malaria using the ALMA supported scorecard Web Platform Workplan Management Tool.
 
He said the scorecard has been a useful tool for action and resource mobilisation by the ‘End Malaria Council’ which is a multisectoral platform of action and accountability for malaria elimination.
 
President HICHILEMA thanked Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO and her team of grassroots workers, at the Malaria Elimination Centre for taking a spirited stand against malaria.
 
He also paid tribute to the Chairman of the African Leaders Malaria Alliance, UMARO SISSOCO EMBALO who is the President of the Republic of Guinea Bissau for his sustained campaign against malaria.
 
President HICHILEMA further urged the people of ZAMBIA to continue adopting malaria prevention methods such as use of treated mosquito nets.
