The Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation -ZAFFICO- says the drought situation in the country has adversely effected its ability to plant additional trees and proper nurturing of Young trees.

ZAFFCO Managing Director MUNDIA MUNDIA said the Corporation projected to plant 10 million exotic trees this year but the dry spell may affect the ability to do so.

He explains that the Corporation is, however, concentrating on growing it’s plantation in the northern region of the country which is receiving normal to above normal rainfall.

He said this on the sidelines of a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between his institution and the Copperbelt University.
