ZAF TO RECLAIM ITS LAND AROUND AIRPORTS

Zambia Air Force -ZAF- Commander COLIN BARRY has called for the demolition of structures built within five hundred meters of Airport Infrastructure across the country.

Lieutenant General BARRY says the presence of illegal structures around Airport space, which are also used as ZAF bases, is a security threat as dignitaries use the airports daily.

He says the presence of illegal structures is compromising security around Airports adding that there is need for the land to be reclaimed.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on North Western Province Permanent Secretary GRANDSON KATAMBI, General BARRY urged local authorities to ensure the process of securing such land is quickened.

And Colonel KATAMBI called on service chiefs to visit the province and familiarize themselves with the security levels in the Region.

He said the presence of Minerals across the province attracts illegal activities and security wings need to be ready to deal with any threats that might arise.
