Young Bullets a win away from AFCON qualification
The Zambia U-20 national team are just one win away from qualifying to the TotalEnergies U20 AFCON set to be held in Egypt in 2023.
The Young Bullets qualified to the semifinals after finishing top of group A with 9 points.
Zambia started their campaign with a 3-0 win over Mauritius before edging Eswatini 2-0. Chisi Mbewe’s boys ended their group campaign with a 1-0 win over Botswana.
Zambia finished the group stage as the only team that did not concede a goal keeping three clean sheets.
The Young Bullets will face Angola in the semifinals of the on Friday 14 October at Somhlolo stadium in Eswatini to book a place in the final and seal qualification to the AFCON tournament.
Angola booked their spot in the last four after finishing as the group best runners-up with six points.
The other semifinal will see Group B winners Mozambique entertaining their Group C counterparts South Africa in a lunchtime kick-off.
The finalists will qualify for the TotalEnergies U20 AFCON Egypt 2023.
