The Workers Compensation Fund Control Board has recorded a six percent drop in compensation claims, in the period January 1st to June 2023.

The Board says this is in comparison with the recorded claims of about 602 in 2022 as opposed to 457 in the first half of 2023.

Speaking to ZNBC news at the trade Fair in Ndola, Workers Compensation Fund Control Board Head of Communication and Customer Services KENNEDY ZULU explained that 457 claims came through from the Mines and quarrying subsector.

And Mr. ZULU has disclosed that his institution has registered over 2, 000 informal workers under the compensation fund.

The programme targeting registration of self-employed and informal workers was initiated 3 months ago.
