ZESCO Ndola Girls will this afternoon hope to extend their stay at the summit of the FAZ Women’s Super League table when they take on YASA Queens in a week 15 encounter slated for Chambeshi Grounds and the game will be live on ZNBC TV3 on Top Star with kick-off set at 13:00hrs.

ZESCO’s Annie Kabwe Namonje will be making her super league debut for Zegalicious in goal and she told the ZamFoot Crew in an interview from her base in Ndola that she’s elated about this development and she aims to keep a clean sheet.

“I feel happy and excited that I will be playing my first league game for ZESCO against YASA Queens today. I have confidence in myself and I aim to keep a clean sheet and deliver good results as a team,” Namonje said.

“Our coaches are always telling us not to underrate any team in the league but to fight until the last whistle and everyone is confident and looking forward to the game,” she added.

Namonje who was an unused substitute when Zambia Women’s National Team defeated Kenya 1-0 at Nkoloma Stadium in a 2020 Tokyo Olympics Qualifier match said her coaches have been encouraging her to continue working hard.

“Our head Coach William Zulu and his assistant Graphson Kazika have been helpful to me, they always tell me to be confident and believe in myself and utilize this opportunity to prove to National Team coaches that am still at my level best so I will play according to their instructions.”

Namonje joined ZESCO Ndola Girls last year from their rivals Indeni Roses and she made her debut for Zegalicious in a 2-1 victory against Queens Academy from Kabwe in a friendly match that was played on 17th October 2020 at Kabwe’s Rugby Ground.

ZESCO Ndola Girls are on top of the table with 27 points going into this afternoon’s game while YASA Queens are 4th with 23 points.
