Women’s League: Buffaloes welcome ZISD as ZESCO date Arrows

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Women’s Super League log leaders ZESCO Ndola Girls will this afternoon play host to Red Arrows Women Football Club at the Trade Fair Grounds in Ndola in a catch-up rescheduled match week 10 encounter at 15:00hrs.
Zegalicious have not had any competitive game for almost 3 months now as the league went on recess as a result of the Copper Queens engagement at the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Olympics in July while The Air Ladies are coming from a 4-4 draw against YASA Queens over the weekend and they will be hoping to redeem themselves and bounce back to winning ways.
This will be the third meeting between ZESCO and Arrows but it will be the first time they are facing each other in a competitive game as the rest of them have been friendly matches.
The first meeting was in 2015 in Ndola and Zegalicious won 2-0 in that match.
The two teams met 2 years later and the Air Ladies this time around won 3-1 in another friendly match played at Nkoloma Stadium with the likes of Macrina Daka, veteran Misozi Zulu, and Mary Wilombe scoring for Arrows while Faustina ‘Zizo’ Sakala scored the consolation goal for ZESCO.
The recent meeting was in September 2019 in Ndola, and spoils were shared as the match ended 1-1 at Trade Fair Grounds.
So there is a lot at stake in this mouthwatering midweek fixture as all roads will lead to Trade Fair Grounds in the friendly city of Ndola.
Elsewhere in Lusaka, Unstoppable Green Buffaloes Women Football Club who are fresh from a 2-nil win over Lusaka Dynamos Ladies will host Zambian Institute for Sustainable Development (ZISD) Women Football Club in another rescheduled match week 10 at the Green Square Ground in Arakan Barracks.
This will be the first-ever meeting between these two sides and the Zambia Army-sponsored side are firm favorites to collect maximum points against a ZISD side that has been struggling to win games in the league.
This match will kick off at 10:00hrs.
