Women’s Football: Zanaco Ladies humiliate Red Lions as Pataaki, Chibolya, and Luyando record big wins

The 2020/21 FAZ Women’s Lusaka Provincial League entered week 19 of action this weekend and it was an interesting matchday with Sensational ZANACO Ladies recording their second victory in succession after they demolished Lusaka Red Lions Women 14-0 while the Stubborn Girls Pataaki and Luyando Foundation Girls recorded similar 6-0 scorelines over Misisi Queens United and Garden Youth respectively with Mapani narrowly edging Football Chance Foundation Girls 1-0.

Pataaki Girls 6-0 Misisi Queens United (Blessing Zulu x4, Mirriam Chakama, Peggy Tembo (P)

Stubborn Girls Pataaki played host to Misisi Queens United at Olympia Park Secondary School Ground in the first of the doubleheader in a game that was expected to produce sparks because the reverse fixture ended in a 1-1 draw in Misisi.

Both sides started on a good note but it was Blessing Zulu who put up a player of the match performance as she stole the show scoring four goals while Mirriam Chakama also found herself on the scoresheet with Peggy Tembo breaking the record as she becomes the first goalkeeper this season to score after she converted from the penalty spot after Blessing Zulu was brought down in the box by Tyness Jere to make it 6-0 for the coach Patrick Luwe Phiri drilled lasses as they recorded one of their highest scorelines in the league.

It’s back to the drawing board for Misisi Queens United who will have another tricky tie in their next assignment against ZANACO who have demolished Lusaka Red Lions Women 14-0 this morning.

Both Pataaki and Misisi played with 10-women after Pauline Zulu and Mary were sent for an early shower in the first half after accumulating two yellow cards.

Mapani Queens 1-0 Football Chance Foundation Girls (Sarah Jere)

Mapani Queens welcomed Football Chance Foundation Girls in the second of the double header at Olympia Park Secondary School Ground and it was revenge time for the Coach Alexander Dale tutored lasses who narrowly edged the enterprising Football Chance Foundation Girls 1-0.

Sarah Jere scored the only goal of the match benefiting from a Dorothy Chimfwembe defense splitting pass to slot home from close range and make it 1-0. Jere’s goal proved to be difference as Mapani held on to win 1-0.

ZANACO Ladies FC 14-0 Lusaka Red Lions Women (Stella Kapotwe x5, Nelia Ngulube x4, Ruth Mwanza, Anna, Victoria, Mapalo, Judith Muzuni)

Sensational ZANACO Ladies recorded their second victory in succession as they demolished struggling Lusaka Red Lions 14-0 at Sunset Stadium in one of the biggest scoring game this season.

Stella Kapotwe scored five goals in this match while Nelia Ngulube had four to her name with the likes of Judith Muzuni, Anna, Victoria, Ruth Mwanza, and Mapalo contributing a goal each for the Sensational Ladies to make it 14-0 to help the Lady Bankers record their third victory of the season.

Garden Youth 0-6 Luyando Foundation Girls ( Matildah Muluka x2, Tefeoga Munene, Catherine Mulenga, Beauty Zulu, Ellesy Chilandula)

Luyando Foundation Girls kept their title hopes alive as they silenced Garden Youth 6-0 away at Olympa Africa Ground.

An amazing performance from the People’s Favorite team was enough to send them to 43 points at par with Pataaki but only separated on goal difference.

Matildah ‘Pogba’ Muluka was the hero as she netted twice while Tefeoga Munene, Catherine Mulenga, Beauty Zulu, and Ellesy Chilandula contributed a goal each to make it 6-0 to the Foundation Girls who will be very happy to go into their next game against Kafue Celtic Queens.

Lusaka Queens 1-1 Green Eagles (Ruth Ngoma | Natasha Nanyangwe)

Log leaders Green Eagles encountered a setback as they battled to a 1-1 draw against Lusaka Queens away at TAP Ground.

Eagles’ Goalpoacher Natasha Nanyangwe who is the second leading top goal scorer in the league opened the scores in the first half but unfortunately, her goal was canceled out by top goal scorer Ruth Ngoma in the 61st minute to make it 1-1.

Eagles had an opportunity to collect maximum points but Trynes Changwe missed a last-minute penalty in the dying moments of the game as she was denied by Queens Goalkeeper Isabel Banda who put up a splendid performance to keep her team in the game as they shared spoils after 90 minutes.

Chibolya Sports Academy Girls 3-0 Progress Sports Club (Judith Zulu, Bupe Mwewa, Hellen Mukuka)

Chibolya Sports Academy Girls bounced back to winning ways as they defeated struggling Progress Sports Club 3-0 at Chibolya Ground.

A goal each from Judith Zulu, Bupe Mwewa, and Hellen Mukuka was enough for Chibolya to collect maximum points with a 3-0 scoreline in this intriguing encounter.

Match Week 19 action will continue on Sunday, 27th June 2021 with NAPSA Queens traveling to Kanyama to lock horns with King Sports Academy Girls in a brunch time kick-off at 11:30hrs while Kafue Celtic will take a long trip from Kafue to Lusaka to take on Twikatane Queens at lunchtime kick-off 12:00hrs at Twikatane Sports Complex.
