WINA : AVOID VIOLENCE DURING CAMPAIGNS

(ZANIS) Vice President INONGE WINA has implored all candidates contesting the August 12 general election to avoid violence during their campaigns, in the various constituencies and wards.

Mrs. WINA said this during a PF manifesto sensitization for all candidates, held in Mongu – Western province.

She said all candidates should emulate late President KENNETH KAUNDA’S legacy of unity, love and peace, during this period of heightened political campaigns.

ZANIS reports that Mrs. WINA said the candidates should endeavour to live in a society that embraces peace, adding that Barotseland has lived in harmony with more than 30 ethnic groupings under the motto of One Zambia, One Nation.

The Vice President further said there is need for all candidates to inform and educate the electorate about the achievements that the PF has done and that people in the province should not shun to work with government in order to foster continued developmen
to the region.

Meanwhile, Western province PF Campaign Manager, NYAMBE LYAMBELA said people in the region have resolved to support the government of the day.

Captain LYAMBELA noted that the province has recorded huge successes under the PF regime in all the 19 constituencies, giving the party more advantage of emerging victorious after the elections.

And former Member of Parliament for Kanchibiya Constituency, MARTIN MALAMA said the winning confidence levels for the party were high in the province because of the good leadership of President EDGAR LUNGU.
