Zesco United Head Coach George Lwandamina has named a strong squad to battle Zamalek in a do or die caf champions league encounter to be played at the 75,000 capacity Cairo International Stadium.

The eight-time Zambian champions face an uphill battle to qualify for the quarter-finals after collecting only two points from their first three games, Zesco is eight points behind log leaders Tp Mazembe and 3 points behind the Zamalek.

A win for the Ndola based side will take them to five points joint with Zamalek ahead of round five encounters against bottom-placed Angolan side Primeiro D’ Agusto to be played at Levy Mwanawasa stadium.

“We have a crucial game against Zamalek on Friday that will determine whether our dreams to qualify to the next stage are still alive. Zesco United is a big team that can raise in the most difficult circumstances. However, we have to play like champions if we have to qualify.” Lwandamina told the Zesco media team.

The team left Lusaka today at 13:00 hrs enroute to Egypt.
