We are on track-UPND Lusaka youths

By Etambuyu Katota-UPND Youths have described 2022 as a successful year for the party as it has been able to deliver on most campaign promises.

UPND Lusaka Province Youth Chairperson ANDERSON BANDA says among the promises attained are massive recruitment of teachers and health personnel, the abolition of the death penalty and the removal of the defamation of the president as criminal.

He has however expressed disappointment with former President EDGAR LUNGU’s failure to attend a luncheon to celebrate a progressive law such as the abolition of the death penalty.

Mr. BANDA says the UPND is creating a conducive environment for mature and issue based politics and has urged political players to get in line with the political environment the party is creating.

He says the UPND will not stop anyone from participating in politics but however calls for responsible and progressive ideas.

Mr. BANDA says politics of insults must be a thing of the past as such kind of politics discourages the participation of women and youths.

Mr. BANDA adds that the country has held a number of by elections were there was no record of violence and misuse of public resources .

He was speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka today.
