VACCINE ADMINISTRATION RECIEVES OVERWHELMING DEMAND

Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Technical Services Kennedy Malama says there is high demand among citizens to be vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

Dr. Malama says in the last 24hours, Three Thousand, Two Hundred and 95 people received dose one of AstraZeneca vaccine while One Thousand, Four Hundred and 47 Have received the second dose.

And in the last 24 hours Zambia has recorded One Thousand, Eight Hundred and one new Covid 19 cases out of 9-Thousand Two Hundred and 36 tests conducted.

Dr Malama has also announced in a statement that the country has recorded 45 new Covid 19 related deaths.

He however said One Thousand and 43 Covid 19 patients have been discharged from isolation facilities while One Thousand, One Hundred and 32 have been discharged under home management.

Meanwhile, Dr Malama has pointed out that though the country has seen an encouraging reduction in positivity and Hospitalisations, there is need to heighten adherence to the public health guidelines.
