USA COMMITTED TO RESOLVING ZAMBIA’S DEBT

United States Ambassador to Zambia MICHAEL GONZALES says his Government remains committed to ensuring that Zambia’s debt restructuring process is quickly resolved.

Mr. GONZALES disclosed that his recent meeting with his Chinese counterpart DU XIAOHUI discussed among other issues Zambia’s debt restructuring process.

He added that the trade competition between the United States and China should NOT be perceived to be enmity but healthy towards development.

Mr. GONZALES was speaking at a press briefing held at the American Embassy in Lusaka.

And Mr. GONZALES explains that the U.S Government’s support to Zambia is genuinely aimed at developing various sectors to better the lives of the citizens.

He said the two countries have enjoyed strong bilateral ties hence the recent historical visit by U.S Vice President KAMALA HARRIS to the country.
