UPND Official Cornhill suspended

Brian Mwale/Mary Kachepa-The UPND has suspended its Lusaka Province Vice Chairperson SAUL CORNHIL for allegedly insulting the University of Zambia student populace, including the graduates.

UPND Secretary General BATUKE IMENDA says Mr. CORNHIL was captured in a video that has gone viral on social media calling University of Zambia officials dogs.

Mr. IMENDA says the party has distanced itself from such utterances because it believes in the rule of law.

He says Mr. CORNHIL remains suspended until further investigations.

Mr. IMENDA noted that the party may also consider expelling him from the party to send a strong signal of discipline among members.

He has reminded UPND members that the party is premised on discipline and the rule of law.

Mr. IMENDA spoke in a walk in interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka .
