U20 WOMEN’S TEAM AIMS FOR ‘LOTS OF GOALS’

The Zambia under 20 Women’s team Coach CHARLES HAALUBONO says scoring a lot of goals will be a critical component in the team’s quest to qualify for the 2022 Costa Rica World Cup.

Zambia have been given a new lease in their quest to make a maiden appearance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup tournament that will be staged in Costa Rica but begin their Qualifiers journey with an encounter against Malawi to be played at the Nkoloma Staduim
n Friday at 15:00 hours.

And HAALUBONO says following the team’s failure to progress past the first round before the tournament was called off, a lot of lessons have been grasped to help Zambia excel against neighbors Malawi.

He says one of the areas that will help his chargers progress easily will be the ability to harness goals against their opponents if Qualification must be attained.

HAALUBONO who was speaking during the team’s training session at the Nkoloma Staduim in Lusaka said the objective against Malawi will be to score an avalanche of goals and concede less on home soil.

He has since implored Zambians to rally behind the team as they take on Malawi on Friday.

Meanwhile the Junior Copper Queens travel to Lilongwe Malawi for the reverse fixture to be played on the 9th of October 2021.
