December 15, 2019December 15, 201913By Robert Mwanza:The performance of the under 20 National Football team has excited football fans who have tipped it as a future dream squad.The Under 20 national Football team was yesterday crowned champions of the 2019 COSAFA junior tournament after they brushed aside their archrivals South Africa by three goals to nil in a mouthwatering final played at Nkoloma stadium in Lusaka.It is with this backdrop that the Zambia Sports Fans Association -ZASPOFA patron Peter Makembo says the boys need support and proper program to ensure the talent is natured.And Makembo who is also FAZ life member has applauded FAZ and the government for extending an olive branch to former FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya to join a committee that has been tasked to recruit the new coach for the senior national side.Makembo has since called for every stakeholder to support the move which he says will not only improve the game but also end perceived misunderstandings between the current FAZ President Andrew Kamanga and the football icon Kalusha Bwalya.He has pleaded with Kalusha to accept the invitation to ensure that he adds his experience to choosing the new coach for Zambia.Last week, Youth and Sports Minister Emmanuel Mulenga disclosed that government has written to Kalusha Bwalya requesting him to join the committee that will select a new National team coach.Mulenga said the decision was arrived at following a meeting with FAZ President Andrew Kamanga and other Executive Committee Members.
