Two women die after consuming a suspected sex booster

By Paul Shalala

Two women of the same family in Gwembe District, Southern Province, have died after consuming a suspected sex booster.

The two women are suspected to have taken a herbal medicine which their husband allegedly bought from traders in Lusaka, who have since been arrested by Police.

A third wife, who also took the herb, is battling for her life in the Gwembe District Hospital.

Gwembe Town Council Chairperson COLLECT NDHLOVU says the husband, who gave the herb to his three wives, also took the herb but he is okay.

Mr. NDHLOVU says the three wives developed acute diarrhoea immediately after consuming the herbs which resulted in the death of the two.

Speaking after he visited the victim who is admitted in hospital, Mr NDHLOVU urged people in the district to desist from consuming medicine that is not authorised by health practitioners.

He has described the health condition of the victim admitted at the hospital as stable.

This is according to a statement issued to ZNBC by Gwembe Town Council Public Relations Officer COSWELL HANTUBA.
