Two teenagers nabbed for motor vehicle theft

Two teenagers aged 15 and 16 have been apprehended by police in Kitwe for theft of a motor vehicle.

The two boys allegedly stole a Toyota Mark X valued at 180-thousand kwacha from Nkana East area where the owner had parked it at his plot.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer PEACEWELL MWEEMBA says WALLACE BANDA the owner of the vehicle left the car engine running and went onto his plot to inspect works.

Twenty minutes later, Mr. BANDA received a phone call from his wife asking him whether he had given the vehicle to anyone.

Mr. MWEEMBA says Mr. BANDA did not find his vehicle when he went to check.

The vehicle was later recovered by police and the two teenagers were apprehended.
