Title chasing Arrows in Zanaco test…As Kaindu promises attacking football

MTN Super league log leaders Red Arrows football club will this afternoon lock horns with seven time champions Sensational Zanaco football club at Nkoloma Stadium as they continue to pursue their second league title.

The Airmen have been enjoying good form in the league hence they enjoying time on top of the log table with 59 points and 7 points above second placed Zesco United.

Chisi Mbewe’s men have only suffered one defeat in the league in their last 25 games picking 57 points from a possible 75 points.

The Airmen boss, Chisi Mbewe believes his technical bench and his players have no pressure going into this encounter and insists his objective is for his players to score goals.

Red Arrows will look to Ricky Banda who has been banging goals lately to lead the attack and the Malian international Alassane Diarra in the middle of the park in the Airmen’s quest to clinch the championship with only five games left to play.

“Pressure is with those who want to catch up with us and those who want to survive, Ours is just the character and the ability to now score goals, we have and will score goals,” He said.

Meanwhile Zanaco who where on continental duty are back after a poor CAF Confederation Cup group stage outing.

The Bankers finished the CAF Confederation Cup Group stage with only one win, bottom of group A with on only three points.

In the league they are currently 9th but with a reasonable chance of finishing in the top four with seven games to go.

Zanaco head coach Kelvin Kaindu believes his charges are ready for tomorrow’s game against Red Arrows.

Zanaco will miss the services of Cameroonian international Moussa Souleymanou who got injured in Egypt in Zanaco’s 1-0 loss to Pyramids football club. Other absentees are Taonga Bwembya and John Sikaumbwe.

“I think in terms of preparation we are ok the only players who are not available for selection are Moussa Souleymanou got injured from the last game we played and John Sikaumbwe and Taonga Bwembya. The rest of the players are available for this game,” He said.

Kaindu believes his team played well despite an early exit from the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.

“It was a difficult group from the way we started but we have gained a lot of experience from the games we played against the teams from North Africa, I think in all the games that we lost we were losing in just the errors that we were committing and not that the opponents could have outplayed us but I think it’s just the few errors that we were making and we hope that experience that we have gotten from the group stage will give us an advantage,” He mentioned.

“They are enjoying good form and they are picking points even when you think they would drop points, they have been winning games even towards at the end of game, if you look at the first leg in the first round that we played against them they beat us I think we scored early and they capitalized on few mistakes that we made and they managed to get a win from there, they are enjoying a good form they are playing at home but this is football if we can focus and hopefully be tactically disciplined the way we have displayed in the Caf Confederation cup we hope we get a positive result.”

“It’s got a lot of things to look at not about the bad record that we have at Nkoloma its probably the log standing that probably would give us an advantage and I think for us if we drop points it will put us in a disadvantage and I think we would go out and attack the whole entire game,” he added.

Red Arrows and Zanaco will lock horns at Nkoloma Stadium at 15:00hrs with a win for the Airmen taking them closer to their second ever Zambia Super League title.
