The last time Zambia qualified to the U23 AFCON

Zambia U23 captain Toaster Nsabata saved three penalties in a nail-biting penalty shoot out to help the Zambia U23 national team qualify to the finals of the Senegal 2015 CAF U23 Championship at the expense of Ivory Coast.

Zambia carries a vital point from a 0 – 0 draw away in Abidjan, Zambia looked fragile against a tactically good Ivory Coast side but still managed to get a result as both teams failed to break the deadlock over two legs with the second leg ending 0 – 0.

Substitute:

Mumbi was replaced by Solomon Sakala

Kelvin Mubanga was withdrawn for Charles Zulu after he suffered an injury when he was hacked from behind.

Zambia converted their penalties through Jackson Chirwa, Benedict Chepeshi, Solomon Sakala and Patson Daka while Ronald Kampamba, Sakala and Zulu missed their spot-kicks for Zambia to win 4 – 3 on post-match penalties.
