“Teaching Council brings Sanity”

Mongu District Commissioner Susiku Kamona says the establishment of the Teaching Council of Zambia has brought sanity in the education sector.Mr. Kamona says since its establishment, several teachers, lecturers and education administrators have been registered with the council.He says the registration now entails that only fully trained educators can work in the country adding that the council has also regulated the issuance of teaching practicing licenses.Mr. Kamona says all licensed teachers have been served with a code of ethics to regulate their professional and moral conduct.He was speaking during a Review of the Teaching Profession Act N0. 5 of 2013 at the Provincial Resource Centre in Mongu which was attended by various key stakeholders.Mr. Kamona urged teachers to be role models in society.
