TAYALI INVITES TURKEY TO INVEST IN ZAMBIA

Minister of Transport and Logistic FRANK TAYALI has called on the Turkish private Sector to consider investing in Zambia and explore opportunities like tourism and infrastructure development in the private sectors.

Mr. TAYALI says the business community in Türkey stands a better chance to benefit from Zambia’s central geographical position, land linked connectivity position and existing peace in and around the country.

The Minister was speaking at a working dinner hosted by the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, ADIL IKARAISMAILOLU in honour of a Zambian delegation from the Public Private Partnership -PPP -Council led by Mr. TAYALI

The team was in Ankara on a study tour of PPP projects undertaken by the Turkish government.

Mr. TAYALI said President, HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, has directed the PPP Council to undertake study tours of countries that have successfully implemented Public Private Partnership projects for the purpose of learning and sharing knowledge

He said the development agenda of Zambia, in the wake of constrained fiscal space in the country, will be actualized through private sector engagement.

Meanwhile the Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure ADIL IKARAISMAILOLU said his country is ready to share all the information, knowledge and experiences in order to assist Zambia in its infrastructure development agenda.

He noted that some of the benefits of the PPP include speeding up the completion of projects and generating revenue for government and the public.
