TAMBATAMBA challenges Human Resource practitioners

By Angela Limwanya

Labour and Social Security Minister, BRENDA TAMBATAMBA has challenged Human Resource practitioners to educate employees on pre and post-retirement interventions by the government.

Ms. TAMBATAMBA says the new dawn government is implementing the pre-retirement programme through the National Pension Scheme Authority –NAPSA- to improve the welfare of workers.

She says the partial withdrawal of pension is meant to stimulate entrepreneurial expertise and innovation and encourage investment among the workforce.

Ms. TAMBATAMBA was speaking in Livingstone during the official opening of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management 11th Regional Summit.

Speaking at the same event, Ministry of Labour and Social Security Acting Permanent Secretary ZACHARIA LUHANGA said the decentralisation of some duties by service commissions through committees will see a lot of positive transformation in the civil service.

And Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management President, MOFFAT NYIRENDA said the institute will continue to develop and promote the standards and ethics that govern the Human Resource practice.
