Stakeholders urged to realign their budgets

By Masauso Mkwayaya

Finance Minister SITUMBEKO MUSOKOTWANE has called on stakeholders to realign their budgets to respond to the threatened national food security.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE says Government expects all stakeholders to comprehensively respond to the disaster and emergency by coming up with short term and long term measures.

He says the measures should include the reduction of wastage of water through investments in water harvesting facilities.

Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said this in a speech read on his behalf by Secretary to the Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA during the opening of the first National Development Coordinating Committee -NDCC- for 2024.

And Dr. MUSOKOTWANE said the NDCC is a space for constructive discussions to unlock development bottlenecks.

Meanwhile, Mr. KANGWA, in a speech read on his behalf by Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet for Finance and Economic Development SIAZONGO SIAKALENGE said the NDCC meetings are crucial as they deal with matters of development.
