SOUTH CHIEFS PRAISE GOVT FOR FISP

Chiefs in Southern Province have applauded the government and Alpha Commodities for completing the delivery of fertilizer to all the Districts in the region.

And the Traditional Leaders have commended the government for increasing the number of bags of fertilizer for farmers from THREE to SIX.

Chief HAMAUNDU of Pemba District says the commodities were delivered to the farmers on time.

The Traditional leader says ALPHA commodities limited conducted the fertilizer distribution exercise in accordance with the contract.

He has appealed to the government to consider starting the distribution of farming inputs early in the next farming season.

The Chief said this when a team from Alpha Commodities paid a courtesy call on him in Pemba District.

And Chief SIPATUNYANA has applauded the supplier Alpha Commodities for completing the distribution of fertilizer in the province.

Chief SIPATUNYANA said about 90 Percent of farmers in his chiefdom have so far received the commodity.

The Traditional leader has urged farmers to ensure Southern Province regains its lost glory of being one of the major producers of maize in the country.

Meanwhile, Alpha Commodities Limited Operations Manager NDELEKI MIYANDA said farmers who have not picked their fertilizer can collect in their respective District depots.
