Some Katete suspects escape police dragnet

Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU says some suspects who beat up nine police officers in Katete District have crossed into Mozambique.

And Mr. MWIIMBU has warned perpetrators of lawlessness that police will sternly deal with them.

He says criminals will not be allowed to challenge the police service with impunity.

The Minister was speaking when he delivered a ministerial statement in parliament on the violence that erupted at Joweni Village in Katete District.

And Mr. MWIIMBU commended the Police for restraining themselves from using maximum force in Katete.
