SIKUMBA calls for aggressive marketing of  Zambia’s tourism sites

By Hannock Kasama

Tourism Minister RODNEY SIKUMBA has called for aggressive measures to market ZAMBIA’s tourism sites apart from the Victoria Fall.

Mr. SIKUMBA says this will help enhance revenue generation from the tourism sector.

And Mr. SIKUMBA says there is need to correct the narrative that the attractive expanse of the Victoria Falls faces neighbouring ZIMBABWE.

The Minister says the attractive side of the falls with massive water levels is on ZAMBIA’s side.

Meanwhile Mr. SIKUMBA has called on ZAMBIANS to take advantage of the enhanced Constituency Development Funds -CDF- to invest in tourism projects.

This  was in a speech read on his behalf by Ministry of Tourism Permanent Secretary EVANS MUHANGA.

This was on Thursday night during the Zambia Institute of Marketing -ZIM’s Annual Great Red Debate Programme that draws experts to debate on various economic sectors.

At the same function, Business Administration Expert FRANCIS MUKOSA acknowledged Zambia’s status as the seventh attractive tourism destination in Africa.
