Sikombe to make his Zesco United debut against Kansanshi

Chipolopolo midfield ace Collins Sikombe will make his ZESCO United debut this coming Saturday when they visit Solwezi.

Zega Mambo Head Coach Numba Mumamba told the club’s official website that he was happy that Sikombe had been registered.

“We have done very well in the transfer window. I am happy that we were able to get some players before the transfer window closed,” he said.

“I am particularly happy that our newly acquired players have finally been registered to play. This weekend presents the best opportunity for us to make use of the lads. I believe they will add great depth to the side.”

“Sikombe is a utility player. We can use him in different positions. Remember we have been laboring going forward. It is good and important for us to have a player like him in the team.”

Sikombe started his career at Zesco United feeder club Malaiti Rangers but was snatched by Napsa Stars. He then joined Lusaka Dynamos in a big money but was returned to Napsa Stars.

At Napsa, he run down his contract and re-joined Lusaka Dynamos last season.

On the international scene, he played for Zambia at the CHAN tournament last year. He was also a regular during Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s time at the helm.

“We let go of some good players. We have also brought in good quality players to fill the void left by those that have left. I believe we have the right players with the right energy and mindset to get us to the promised land.

“I expect everyone to adjust to life as soon as possible because we need the points to catch up with Red Arrows. We have the balance in the team with the additions we have made.”

ZESCO United will this Saturday face Kansanshi Dynamos in the MTN Super League week 23match to be played at the Independence Stadium in Solwezi.

Apart from Sikombe, Shemny Mayembe also made his return to ZESCO United and could also make his debut for the defending Champions but will have to fight off Simon Silwimba and Samson Mkandawire.
