Siame In 200m Final

By Joy Siatubi-Zambia’s Sydney Siame has sent a strong message, storming the finals of the 200 meters Mens’ heat at the ongoing All Africa games.Siame who is also the country’s record holder in 200 meters, demonstrated his prowess in both the preliminary and semi-final heats where he came out tops.In the preliminary heat, the Zambian sprinter was first, with a timing of 20.61 seconds, while in the semi-final, he recorded a 20.67 seconds timing to storm the finals with a bang.The Mens’ 200 meters final is set for this evening in Rabat.Meanwhile, government is happy with the performance of Zambian athletes at this year’s All Africa games, and has encouraged them to continue working hard.Sports Permanent Secretary, Joe Kapembwa said what is needed now is long term planning and investment in the athletes so that they perform even better.Kapembwa was speaking in an interview yesterday.Zambia has so far minted four medals in swimming, chess, badminton and boxing.
