Scouting Report: Luchanga impresses in front of Asanovic & with his assistants

Prison Leopards striker Conlyde Luchanga rolled back the years at Nkoloma Stadium on Friday in a Zambian Super League match against league leaders Red Arrows.

And Zambia coach Aljosa Asanovic with his two assistants were in the stands at Nkoloma to watch the double header.

The former Zambia Under-20 star was in impressive form and gave Arrows’ defensive duo Allan Kapila and Tresor Tshibwabwa Yamba Yamba a tough time.

The 23 year was mobile and brought his teammates into play with his splendid link up play.

The Golden Boy marked his fine performance with a goal that gave the Kabwe side a first half lead.

In the second half, he continued to impress and drifted a bit wide to the left to create 1v1 with Benedict Chepeshi.

Luchanga’s father is the physical trainer at Prison Leopards. Maybe that could have been the reason why he has rekindled his magic in kabwe

Luchanga has now scored 7 league goals. He has found the back of the net against Power Dynamos, Kansanshi Dynamos, Green Buffaloes, Konkola Blades, Indeni, Nkwazi and now Red Arrows.

The boy from Mazabuka has been to four tournaments – CAF U23 Championship in 2015, CAF U20 African Cup of Nations in 2017 and the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2017.

At the World Cup in Korea, he started Zambia’s first two group match fixtures.

He also came off the bench in the last 16 against Germany to provide an assist for Shemmy Mayembe’s goal.

His only goal for Zambia came against Mozambique

Luchanga was also part of the Zambia which reached the quarter finals of the CHAN Squad in 2018.

He has been capped 15 times for Zambia.

He has featured for the likes Lusaka Dynamos, Power Dynamos and Buildcon as well as a short stint in Israel at Hapoel Ranaana.
