Rested for CAF games! Janny Sikazwe returns to action with a top four clash

Zambian top referee Janny Sikazwe is back in action this afternoon.

The 43 year old will be take charge of a Zambian Super League top four clash between Green Eagles and Red Arrows at Choma’s Independence Stadium.

This will be the first match the highly rated Zambian will handle after he suffered a meltdown at the African Cup of Nations last month.

Sikazwe blew full-time prematurely twice in Mali’s 1-0 win over Tunisia.

The Zambian official blew the final whistle after just 85 minutes before restarting play, but then blew again with just 89 minutes and 43 seconds of the Group F clash gone.

After a 3 weeks break, Sikazwe is back as he tries to resurrect his career.

Had that incident at the AFCON not taken place, the Zambian would not have been in Choma this weekend but he could have been on the continent in charge of either a CAF Champions League or Confederations Cup game.

“Janny has showed character again. Instead of being depressed for not even being considered for CAF games, he said I want to return to the pitch,” a source told the ZamFoot Crew.
