Resolve labour issues amicably,Tambatamba tells workers

ZANIS-Labour Minister BRENDA TAMBATAMBA says workers should learn to resolve matters with their employers within the provisions of the law as opposed to resorting to illegal strikes.

Ms. TAMBATAMBA says the new dawn administration has placed keen emphasis on the strict adherence to the rule of law.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, Ms. TAMBATAMBA said illegal strikes empower employers to terminate contracts and must be avoided at all costs.

She emphasized that employees should adhere to the provisions of the law as their cases are dealt with through laid down procedures without causing any industrial unrest.

Meanwhile, Ms TAMBATAMBA has assured workers at Kansanshi Mine Plc that they will not lose their jobs despite management issuing suspension letters to some of them who allegedly participated in an illegal sit in protest.
