REGION 5 GAMES : BOXERS IMPRESS

Zambian boxers have recorded a 100 percent winning start to their quest for gold medals at the region five games in Lilongwe, Malawi winning all three fights on the first day.

Fly weight TOM KABUNDA, feather weight MWENGO MWALE and Female Boxer MERODY NGONA recorded wins in the opening preliminary rounds.

The three boxers all won the matches via knockouts with MWENGO holding the record for the shortest fight which lasted 93 seconds.

And Zambian coach MAYBIN GUNDIZANI said his boxers mean business as they are at the games to win medals.

Meanwhile, Female Boxer MERODY NGONA is happy with her first victory.
